Sean Fennessy

Sean Fennessy began his career as a cadet photographer after completing a degree in journalism. His work has a quiet, honest quality, finding beauty in the banal and the overlooked. In 2011 he was a finalist in the Head On Portrait Prize and the National Photographic Portrait Prize with his project 'Invisible People', the result of six months documenting the lives of acquired brain injury sufferers. Other personal projects include 'Ghosts', featuring empty and overlooked corners of recently vacated homes, and 'Long Way from Home', a series of portraits of costumed participants at a science fiction convention.
Sean has been commissioned to shoot for a variety of clients including MONA, Smith Journal, The Design Files, Clemenger, The Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra and Channel 7.
